January of 2010 was a turning point in my life and where the story of Queen Bling begins. I am Stacey Stark, the proud owner of Queen Bling Boutique, LLC in Pearland, Texas. My boutique story has rich history of attending markets growing up, a passion for fashion and jewelry, and a love for decorating that I get from my mother. I hope you enjoy our "About Us" and hear the history of my boutique.
In 2009, my mother and I decided to start buying some products and seeing if they would resale. It was our test so to speak to see if this thing called "Retail" could work for us. We would set up in hair salons and even had a mini boutique set up in my parents' gameroom for customers to come shop in. My mother, Maxine Stark is a retired corporate event planner of 35 years. She has attended markets in Dallas, New York, Las Vegas, and bought at the big furniture market in High Point, North Carolina long before Queen Bling was thought of. She had a one of a kind job in that she bought corporate gifts, planned large events for the company and was essentially a private shopper for the executives of the company. That is where I got my experience of going to market. I have been going to the Dallas Market Center since I was in college and it was defiantly an advantage to getting into the retail world. I had always mentioned that I wanted to open a boutique and my mom would always says "maybe when I retire." Little did she know, I would hold her to that line later.
I attended Texas A&M University (WHOOP!) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture Science. I starting teaching high school Agriculture right out of college. I had a passion for being an FFA Advisor and loved every bit of it. My dad got tired of our make shift boutique set up in his gameroom and told me I had a decision to make: quit teaching and open a boutique or quit buying items to sale on the side. He also gave me a time line of two weeks to make my decision. That was a very tough decision for me as I had a passion for both but I was ready for a change. After 10 years of teaching, I decided to take the leap and open a store front in Pearland.
We signed our lease and my mom went to work on the build out while I finished teaching classes. We opened on Mother's Day weekend of 2010. It is fitting that we celebrate the boutique anniversary on Mother's Day every year because Queen Bling would not be where it is today with out my mom!
We expanded the boutique once at our original location and then in the summer of 2015 we moved into the center location of the shopping center. We are currently 5,700 square feet and cater to ladies and girls looking for the perfect outfit and accessories. We also carry a large amount of unique gifts and have a great baby and tween section. I am also proud to say we have a man cave and bar in honor of my father, our maintenance man. He asked for an area for men to shop and a bar where he can get a cold beer. When he requested it, I wanted to make sure it happened.
I have loved every bit of owning Queen Bling and have learned so much about being a business owner. A ton of time and effort is put into my home away from home and I truly enjoy every bit of it. I want to thank my parents, family, supporters, and customers who have made my dream become a reality!!!
Getting to come to work where you love it is such a blessing! Helping brighten someone's day by helping them find the perfect gift or right outfit is so much fun and I love every bit of it.
I am now taking my next leap of faith and starting a new online boutique. We are excited here at Queen Bling to be able to offer our customers from all over a way to find their favorite item from our online store. Thank you for taking this next leap with me and I look forward to what the future holds.
Our favorite saying around here is REAL QUEEN'S FIX EACH OTHER'S CROWNS!!! Remember a smile or hug can make someone's day and we hope we can make yours when you shop with Queen Bling Boutique!
